This set was taken on lonely roads during a winterly journey to the remote provinces of Spain. It depicts a sparse, rural land far off large cities and industrial zones. Not a lot has changed there in the last decades, but a whole generation left the villages to work abroad, leaving the countryside to the old. "La España profunda", deep Spain, has never been all too prosperous and has now become a lonesome country in a state of slow decay. Just the kind of place to find my peace of mind.
